Amir Temur Square
Amir Temur Square is one of the most famous and historically important public spaces in Tashkent, dedicated to the legendary conqueror and statesman Tamerlane, known in Uzbekistan as Amir Temur. Located in the heart of the city, the square serves as a symbol of national pride, history, and the legacy of the Timurid Empire.
The square was originally established in the late 19th century during the Russian Empire period and has undergone several transformations throughout history. After Uzbekistan gained independence, it was renamed in honor of Amir Temur, recognizing his major role in the history and culture of Central Asia.
At the center of the square stands an impressive equestrian statue of Amir Temur mounted on horseback, symbolizing strength, leadership, and power. Surrounding the monument are landscaped gardens, fountains, walking paths, and some of Tashkent’s most important buildings, including the famous Hotel Uzbekistan and the Amir Temur Museum.
